E-Lynx Newsletter

Giving Thanks!
We are thankful for all that this year has provided. Much of our time and energy is spent pursuing things we currently don’t have.
Gratitude
helps us reverse those priorities to help us appreciate the people and things we do.

Dear Researcher,

We are pleased to present the e-Lynx, a newsletter devoted to keeping our customers up-to-date on new technologies,
our new products, suppliers, activities and promotions.

Ultra-sensitive epigenomics: Moving beyond ChIP-seq to CUT&RUN and CUT&Tag

Abstract:
Chromatin regulatory networks integrate genetic and environmental factors to facilitate gene expression programs, which are essential for normal cellular function. Defective chromatin signaling alters gene expression and is strongly linked to developmental disorders and disease. Chromatin ImmunoPrecipitation followed by next-generation sequencing (ChIP-seq) provided a foundational method to study chromatin structure by mapping the location of histone post-translational modifications (PTMs) and chromatin binding proteins genome-wide. However, the innate challenges of ChIP-seq – including poor sensitivity, low throughput, and high costs – have severely limited the application of epigenomic mapping to advance chromatin research.

But, there is a solution. By utilizing a novel in situ strategy that enables unprecedented mapping sensitivity and simplified workflows, CUT&RUN and CUT&Tag are creating a paradigm shift in chromatin research. This presentation will give a high-level overview of these scalable technologies and encourage a discussion to explore how researchers can approach epigenomics for next-generation chromatin studies.

Ask our Technical Team to add you to the ZOOM registration list and we will send you a $5 Tim Horton's Card following your attendance at the webinar.

NEW LITERATURE

Vector Laboratories – Immunofluorescence Mounting Guide

Immunofluorescence (IF) is a powerful method for visualizing proteins expressed directly within tissues. Mounting, the last step in the IF workflow, is critical for tissue integrity, long-term storage, signal intensity, and more. This IF mounting guide provides information to help researchers choose the best mounting medium for their project and offers tips to help reduce photobleaching during the image visualization process.

This guide includes:

  • An overview on fluorescence and photobleaching
  • Selection tips for using the appropriate mounting medium
  • A comparison of non-hardening vs hardening formulations
  • Other factors to consider when doing IF

TECHNICAL REPORT

American Pharmaceutical Review: The Future of Bacterial Endotoxin

Traditional LAL reagents are currently the only FDA licensed reagents for Bacterial Endotoxin Testing (BET); however, a new recombinant alternative – recombinant cascade reagent (rCR) was recently introduced, providing the sustainable benefits and none of the drawbacks of Recombinant Factor C (rFC) reagents. Many early adopters have already implemented rCR for in house BET testing, especially for in process water samples.

Download this infographic to learn more about the future of BET methods, and a table comparing the expected attributes from traditional LAL reagent, rFC, and rCR.
