MJSBioLynx Well Being

In June...We Celebrate Fathers

The Dalai Lama could be considered the Father of Peace.  Just like Mother Teresa, he has some wonderful Fatherly words of wisdom we thought we would share with you.

“As people alive today, we must consider future generations: a clean environment is a human right like any other. It is, therefore, part of our responsibility toward others to ensure that the world we pass on is as healthy, if not healthier than we found it.”

"Give the ones you love wings to fly, roots to come back, and reasons to stay.”

“Know the rules well, so you can break them effectively.”

“Once a year, go somewhere you’ve never been before.”

“We can live without religion and meditation, but we cannot survive without human affection.”

“People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost.”

Vector Laboratories – VectaPlex Antibody Removal Kit

Vector VectaPlex™ Product with logoThis ready-to-use kit is designed to remove antibodies and other non-covalently bound detection reagents from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections in immunofluorescence or tyramide signal amplification staining workflows.

VectaPlex simplifies sample processing for manual workflows, accelerates multiplex assay optimization, preserves precious samples, and maintains tissue integrity and morphology through multiple cycles of antibody binding and removal.

Obtain more spatial biomarker information from each tissue section:

  • Detect 7+ targets in a single tissue using two-color fluorescent imaging and standard IF reagents.
  • Multiplex at room temperature with minimal tissue damage or loss of antigenicity.
  • Preserve precious sample in IF and TSA, including sensitive tissues such as lung, skin, and breast.
  • Stain with multiple primaries from the same species and a single secondary without cross-reactivity.
  • Reduce the need for optimization of the sequence in which antibodies are bound during TSA.

TECHNICAL REPORTS

Enhance Your Transcriptome Analysis:  Tips for Preparing Optimal RNA

BioEcho Life Sciences LogoRNA extraction is a critical step in molecular biology and genomics research, particularly in transcriptomic analysis and sequencing studies. Obtaining high-quality RNA is essential for accurate downstream analysis. However, different types of samples present unique challenges that researchers must address to ensure optimal RNA yield and integrity. To successfully conduct an RNA-seq experiment, it is important to understand the entire workflow, which includes experimental design, RNA extraction, library preparation, sequencing, and analysis. This article will explore the first steps of the
process: the experimental design and the important factors involved in RNA extraction from various sample types.

Bacteria in Metastases:  The Microbiome of Cancer

Cell Guidance Systems LogoWithin our bodies, microbes have developed an essential, commensal role and are found in many niches. A comprehensive study, recently published in Cell, provides a fascinating insight into the role of microbes in cancer and how they can modulate prognosis and responses to treatment.

The research, published in Cell, was led by Emile Voest and Lodewyk Wessels at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam. The researchers analysed over 4000 tumors seeking to understand
the diversity of microbes and the ways they interact with cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment.
