Meridian Life Sciences – ZIKA Virus Recombinant Antigens

ZIKA Virus (ZIKV) is closely related to other mosquito-borne flaviviruses such as the dengue, Japanese encephalitis, yellow fever, West Nile viruses.  ZIKV is an important emerging pathogen due to its appearance across the globe, mosquito-driven transmission cycle, and possible spread via sexual contact.  Studies have shown that ZIKV can reside in blood transfusions and they can be a possible vector for human-to-human transmission.

The ZIKV recombinant antigens are made in Sf9 Cells.  These antigens are available in 1mg sample sizes and gram bulk quantities for the development of assays.

SBI - Webinar: How to Use AAV-Cas9 for In Vivo Genome Engineering & New Safe Harbor Targeting Technologies

In this webinar, SBI will describe how to utilize recombinant adeno- associated viral technology with new Cas9 species for RNA-guided genome editing in human cells. They will also introduce a new safe harbor, site-specific knock-in system for more precise and controllable genome engineering, and review how this safe harbor system can be used to easily create stable, isogenic Cas9 cell lines for high-throughput screening.

TECHNICAL REPORT

The Generation R Study – Proven Stability of Micronic Labware during Long Term Sample Storage

Micronic was part of The Generation R Study by supplying, for the last 15 years, reliable sample storage labware preserving the integrity of tens of thousands of samples. This successful and extremely important ongoing research is a prospective cohort study from fetal life until young adulthood.

Claudia Kruithof, Datamanager of the Generation R Study commented "Since 2002, the samples were safely preserved so that when required for research the desired analyses could be conducted. Visually the tubes are positively evaluated and the sealing performed as expected with no noticeable evaporation."

A study from investigators at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind/Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center found that eliciting the relaxation response—a physiologic state of deep rest induced by practices such as meditation, yoga, deep breathing and prayer—produces immediate changes in the expression of genes involved in immune function, energy metabolism and insulin secretion.  Click here to read more on the Harvard Medical School Website.
