RT-real-time-PCR mix for using DNA probes
SCRIPT RT-qPCR ProbesMaster UNG is designed for quantitative real-time analyses of RNA templates using Dual Labeled Fluorescent Probes. The ready-to-use mix is based on a genetically engineered reverse transcriptase with enhanced thermal stability providing increased specificity, high cDNA yield and improved efficiency for highly structured and long cDNA fragments.
- Validated for molecular diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2
- High cDNA yield
- Elimination of DNA contamination from previous PCR reactions
The mix contains UNG (Uracil-N-Glycosylase) and dUTP instead of dTTP to eliminate carry-over contamination of DNA from previous PCR reactions. The UNG treatment at the onset of thermal cycling removes uracil residues from dU-containing DNA and prevents it from serving as template.

A Diagnostic Lab In Kingston Developed a COVID-19 Test In Just a Few Days
The molecular biology laboratory at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and other labs like it have been at the heart of the effort to contain COVID-19, not just in Kingston but across a wide swath of eastern Ontario.
Over the past several weeks, the lab at KHSC has completed just over 5,000 tests. Its technologists have been redeployed and retrained from other areas to greatly increase the number of tests being analyzed.
