Jena Bioscience – Black Hole Quencher: True Dark Quenchers without Native Emission

Jena Bioscience Logo with BHQ-1 DiagramBlack Hole Quenchers (BHQs) are the gold standard among quenchers in molecular biology, especially for quantitative PCR (qPCR) and other fluorescence-based assays.

Unlike traditional quenchers, BHQs are true dark quenchers without native emission, which reduces background noise and increases detection sensitivity.

FEATURED PRODUCTS

Vector Laboratories – VECTASTAIN® Elite® ABC-HRP Kit, Peroxidase (Standard)

Vector Laboratories - VECTASTAIN Elite ABC-HRP with logoThe VECTASTAIN Elite ABC system is the most sensitive avidin/biotin-based peroxidase system and is approximately 5 times more sensitive than the original VECTASTAIN ABC Kit. It is available without a biotinylated secondary antibody (Standard kit).

Features:

  • Advanced avidin/biotin technology: The Elite ABC complex is smaller, very uniform,
and highly active, allowing more accessibility for binding to a biotinylated target.
  • Cost effective: Higher sensitivity leads to lower cost per slide.
  • Kit contains sufficient reagents to stain approximately 500-1000 sections.

TECHNICAL REPORT

Vector Laboratories – All About VECTASTAIN® ABC Kits for Immunodetection

Vector Laboratories logoAvidin-Biotin Complex, or ABC-based detection, is one of the most widely used methods for staining. This method exploits the high affinity exhibited between the protein avidin and the vitamin biotin forming large macromolecular complexes containing multiple enzyme molecules – either horse radish peroxidase (HRP) or alkaline phosphatase (AP)...
