Dear Coronavirus,
I am waking up to a new world today.
Your presence has disturbed me from my sleep.
You have kicked us out of normal.
We cannot keep on living the way we were.
Wives, husbands, brothers, sisters, have lost their loves and lives to you.
What more will you take from us?
Our minds? Our hearts? Our love? Too?
Very well then, I will accept your terrible invitation, dear coronavirus.
I, for one, will not squander this hour of pain.
I’m going back to the drawing board.
With 20/20 vision, I will live with imagination.
I’ve been self-isolating for way too long – cut off from reality by a narrow self.
Self is not a singularity; SELF is plural!
This morning, the sun also rises as I come out of hiding.
I ask my heart – which is where God lives – how I can start to widen my circle of love.
I see the bigger picture now.
I’m all signed up and I’m good to go.
I know what my work is.
I am here to spread the love.
